Oracle announced today it was buying Siebel for $10.66 a share for a company that a few years ago was trading well north of $100 a share. We predicted back in June that the company would be sold for scrap and that newly appointed CEO George Shaheen did not have what it takes to turn the company around. Shaheen joins Roger Siboni of E.piphany in the CRM Hall of Shame. George worked fast in engineering the demise of this once great company. Where was Tommy in all this? On the other hand Larry Ellison continues to kick ass. Splendid recreation will be had by all watching how he starts to toy with Marc Benioff and the Saleforce.com folks.
