From USA Today and AdPulp… Intel is launching a new branding campaign. From USA Today:
The brand overhaul comes just weeks after the company elevated Eric Kim to the role of Chief Marketing Officer. Intel hired Kim away last year from Samsung
Electronics, where he was credited with helping to forge a brand to
take on industry stalwarts such as Japan’s Son.
Here is an interesting profile of Eric Kim and what he accomplished at Samsung. Hmmmm…. wonder if he plays Go? I think he’s going to have his hands full with Intel and vice-versa. But you can’t discount his success in transforming the Samsung brand into a huge money-maker. George Parker is off his livin’ rocker on this one. Click here to read George’s take.
UPDATE: In our original post we had suggested a rumored budget of $500 million to a billion. I can’t confirm the source so we’ve taken it out of the post until we can confirm the actual budget.
