The venture capital panel at the end of the partner general session on Wednesday was quite excellent. I’m not in the habit of complimenting VC’s but in this case the panel did a nice job of outlining the need and lack thereof for venture capital in the on-demand/SAAS environment. Geoffrey Moore now of Mohr Davidow offered some great insights and Ron Conway of Angel Investors was practical and down to earth with his advice. Peter Fenton from Benchmark demonstrated how out-of-step the big VC’s are with the needs and opportunities connected with the post bubble economy.
