It’s half time and most of the game has been spent discussing Michael Vick. Not football. I turned off the TV. Listening to the new Monday Night Football announcing team has been difficult. I don’t care for ’em. Now NBC is injecting Keith Olberman into their Sunday night game (and everyone will mix up Olberman with ESPN ‘s Monday Night package since ESPN is where he got his start). For the first time since the first Monday night game, I don’t think I’ll be watching much football this season.
From baseball, to cycling, to football genuine role models have become slim pickings. On the other hand, when you see our young men and women serving in Iraq – the quality of those serving and the cause that they fight for – suddenly everything comes back into focus. Maybe they should send Michael Vick to serve in Iraq. Let him see what real heroes look like.
